Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.20% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 869,707 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 40,623 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,728 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 874,430 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.27% increase from Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.88% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 19.41%, while run-of-the-river plants held a 12.52% share.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,810 megawatt-hours, while imports total 7,249 megawatt-hours.
