Türkiye's electricity production in April increased by around 11%, compared to the same period last year, data from the country's energy watchdog showed on Friday.
Total electricity generation totaled around 24.72 million megawatt-hours (MWh) in April, Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) announced in its latest electricity market report.
The country produced electricity from several sources including 29.6% from hydropower, 18.5% from natural gas, 16.7% from imported coal, and 11.7% from lignite plants.
Wind, geothermal, biomass, solar power, hard coal, asphaltite, and fuel oil generated the remaining share.

Installed electricity capacity rose by 1.9% to 97,914 megawatts in April, relative to April 2024.
