Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 6.9% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 796,548 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,935 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,328 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 801,208 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, decreasing around 6.5% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 25.5% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 17.5% and 14.2%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,508 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,022 megawatt-hours.
