Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.17% to 624,593 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 30,009 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 21,894 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 617,051 megawatt-hours on Saturday with an 8.75% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 179,549 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river plants followed with 125,045 megawatt-hours and 99,895 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,715 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,257 megawatt-hours.
