Avangrid, the US subsidiary of Spanish energy company Iberdrola, generated 13,891 gigawatt-hours of electricity in the first half of 2026, enough to power more than 2.6 million US homes, the company said Wednesday.
The company's electricity generation increased 8% compared with the same period last year, driven by strong performance from its existing fleet and new generation capacity brought online over the past year.
Avangrid exceeded 11 gigawatts of installed capacity from nearly 100 operational facilities in the US with recent additions including the Bakeoven Solar, Daybreak Solar, and Tower Solar projects in Oregon, alongside projects completed in California, Ohio, and Texas.
Its onshore projects also generated $61 million in local tax revenues in 2025, supporting public services including education and public safety.
