Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 1.6% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 953,151 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,401 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,570 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 953,723 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of 1.4% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 25.2% of total electricity consumption, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 22.2% and 13.4%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 7,832 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 7,262 megawatt-hours.
