Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 4.69% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,057,195 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,659 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT) on Tuesday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 35,036 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,067,714 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 4.61% increase from Monday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 15.5% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 12.2%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,115 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,928 megawatt-hours.
