Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.4% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 958,060 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday at 10.15 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 47,327 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,446 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 963,935 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.4% increase from Wednesday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.9% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 20.5%, while hydroelectricity power plants held a 17.8% share.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,741 megawatt-hours, while imports total 3,877 megawatt-hours.
