Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 9% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 903,757 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,915 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,893 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 917,994 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 4.3% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for 22.1% of total generation, while natural gas and solar plants contributed 20.3% and 15.1%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 16,880 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,649 megawatt-hours.
