Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 12% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 891,992 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,931 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,415 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 894,465 megawatt-hours on Thursday, increasing around 11.6% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 26% of total generation, while natural gas and solar plants contributed 23.8% and 13.5%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 6,840 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,367 megawatt-hours.
