Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.7% to 596,917 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 29,631 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 20,776 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 598,429 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 8.6% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 175,374 megawatt-hours. Wind and run-of-river hydroelectricity plants followed with 111,501 megawatt-hours and 104,786 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,741 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,229 megawatt-hours.
