Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 12.9% to 657,567 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 32,927 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 23,378 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 650,759 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 12.8% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 212,512 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and lignite plants followed with 128,954 megawatt-hours and 89,664 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,318 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 13,126 megawatt-hours.
