Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.88% to 708,371 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 33,679 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,590 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 712,585 megawatt-hours on Thursday with a 0.22% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 232,524 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river hydroelectricity and import coal plants followed with 109,490 megawatt-hours and 104,940 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,074 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,860 megawatt-hours.
