Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.85% to 753,401 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time with 34,843 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,117 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 749,356 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 1.11% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 211,752 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river hydroelectricity plants followed with 139,307 megawatt-hours and 107,668 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,759 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 12,804 megawatt-hours.
