Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.4% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 881,213 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 42,394 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,825 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 892,326 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.25% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 32.40% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 20.83% share while hydropower plants comprised 12.81%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,151 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 37 megawatt-hours.
