Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.99% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 870,680 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 41,126 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,542 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 877,256 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.97% decrease from Tuesday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 23.3% share, while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 13.7%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,606 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,458 megawatt-hours.
