Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 13.5% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 894,234 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,279 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,789 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 894,234 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 14% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.4% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 26.7% and 14.5%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 8,877 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 29,396 megawatt-hours.
