Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11.09% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 691,682 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 34,312 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,875 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 691,682 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 11.42% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 32.65% of total electricity consumption on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 23.85% share while lignite plants comprised 15.85%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,110 megawatt-hours while imports reached 8,051 megawatt-hours.
