Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.89% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 901,300 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 43,488 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,310 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 913,446 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.85% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 35.38% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 20.77% share while hydro plants comprised 15.14%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,211 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 65 megawatt-hours.
