Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.88% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 738,935 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 34,884 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,682 megawatt-hours at 10.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 738,935 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8.71% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 34.88% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 26.83% share while lignite plants comprised 14.65%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,097 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,245 megawatt-hours.
