Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.1% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 738,929 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time, reaching 36,257 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,278 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 743,170 megawatt-hours on Sunday, with a decrease of 9.4% from Saturday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 28.81% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 26.15% share while lignite plants comprised 14.84%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,532 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,291 megawatt-hours.
