Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 7.6% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 818,120 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 37,641 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,860 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 826,609 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 8.1% decrease from Friday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29.8% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 20.6%, while hydroelectricity plans held a 17.2% share.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,073 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,615 megawatt-hours.
