Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.64% to 837,225 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 38,538 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,031 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 829,109 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 2.92% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 225,875 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and natural gas plants followed with 164,680 megawatt-hours and 117,599 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,076 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,193 megawatt-hours.
