Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.42% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,142,916 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,106 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 37,983 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,152,096 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.47% decrease from Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.5% of total electricity consumption, hydropower plants contributed 21.1% while imported coal powerplants comprised 14.2%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,695 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,708 megawatt-hours.
