Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.16% to 779,365 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 16.00 and 17.00 local time with 35,964 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,435 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 779,365 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an 0.6% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 179,934 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and natural gas plants followed with 145,367 megawatt-hours and 140,909 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 518 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 12,232 megawatt-hours.
