Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1% to 858,177 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time with 41,136 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 28,313 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 847,671 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, with a 0.96% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants totaling 204,077 megawatt-hours.
Imported coal and hydroelectricity plants followed with 201,763 megawatt-hours and 155,650 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,074 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 13,580 megawatt-hours.
