Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 6.91% to 682,017 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday. .
Hourly power consumption peaked at 01.00 local time with 30,543 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 23,770 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 678,226 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 6.25% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 162,218 megawatt-hours. Wind and run-of-river plants followed with 112,285 megawatt-hours and 108,932 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 2,001 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,792 megawatt-hours.
