Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.88% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 866,905 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 41,721 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,153 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 877,463 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 0.89% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 36.41% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 22.47% share while local coal plants comprised 13.94%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,834 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 276 megawatt-hours.
