Workers at Belgium's Tihange nuclear power plant have been evacuated after the terrorist attacks in Brussels on Tuesday.
Local Belgian media and Russian Interfax cited that it was unclear if the evacuation was connected with the terrorist attacks in the capital earlier Tuesday morning.
However, non-critical workers left the Tihange Nuclear Power Plant facility located in the city of Liege, around an hour's drive from the capital Brussels.
The Tihange plant with three nuclear reactors is one of the biggest in Belgium.
Belgium has seven nuclear reactors generating about 50 percent of the country's electricity.
At least 34 people were killed and more than 100 others were injured in multiple explosions at an airport and metro station in Brussels on Tuesday morning, Belgian public broadcaster VRT reported.
The first two blasts were reported at Zaventem airport, where at least 14 people were killed and dozens of others were injured at around 8:00 a.m. local time (07:00 GMT), according to VRT.
More than an hour later, an explosion hit Maelbeek metro, located near European Union institutions, killing 20 people, VRT reported. Initial reports say the Brussels airport attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.
