Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 10.3% to 658,543 megawatt-hours on Monday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 31,904 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 21,663 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 658,207 megawatt-hours on Monday with a 9.9% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 197,028 megawatt-hours. Wind and run-of-river hydroelectricity plants followed with 108,929 megawatt-hours and 108,077 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,989 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,325 megawatt-hours.
