Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 15.1% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 826,281 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 40,116 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT) and the country's electricity consumption fell to 25,690 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 817,296 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 15.3% compared to Sunday.
Wind plants contributed 25% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants supplied 24.7% and 14.9%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 9,591 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,576 megawatt-hours.
