Azerbaijan, Slovakia discuss expanding bilateral cooperation
President Aliyev, Slovak Deputy Premier Kalinak highlight defense partnership, Baku’s ties with EU, NATO

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Friday met with Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Robert Kalinak to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation, including in military and defense industries, as well as Slovakia’s support for strengthening Azerbaijan’s relations with the EU and NATO, the presidency said.
The two sides also exchanged views on the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Aliyev emphasized the historical importance of the documents signed in Washington with the participation of US President Donald Trump, describing them as key to promoting lasting peace in the region.
Kalinak congratulated Azerbaijan on the fifth anniversary of its victory in the Patriotic War and conveyed greetings from Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, expressing gratitude for the invitation to attend the anniversary military parade in Baku.
Aliyev thanked Kalinak for the greetings and asked him to convey his best wishes to the Slovak premier, praising the Slovak delegation’s participation in the celebrations.
