ANKARA
The Anadolu Agency has signed a subscription agreement with Azerbaijan’s Lider TV as part of its project to realize its centennial vision marking 100 years of the Republic of Turkey.
Under the agreement signed in the capital, Baku, on Thursday, Lider TV can use AA’s photos, news stories and videos for a year.
The chief of Lider TV Adalat Aliyev said they had previously worked with many Western news agencies but had decided to work with AA.
He said Anadolu Agency was as good as its Western peers in terms of quality and speed of work.
Meanwhile, the AA’s Asia-Caucasus regional head Tolga Ozgenc said that Lider TV’s decision to end its contracts with other agencies and work with the AA was significant.
Expanding service
As part of its centennial vision, AA plans to be among the world’s top five news agencies and to broadcast in 11 languages by 2023.
The agency currently broadcasts in Turkish, Arabic, English, Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian, Russian, Kurdish and French.
In order to reach its centennial vision, AA seeks to expand its subscribers and news production in Asia-Caucasus.
Lider TV is one of the most-widely watched TV channels in Azerbaijan.
