ANKARA
Turkish prime minister Erdogan said Syrian tanks must return to barracks if the Syrian regime was to live up to a UN/Arab League-brokered peace plan.
"Reports are partly correct that tanks have withdrawn. They might be no more on the streets but they are on standby outside towns and cities. Tanks must withdraw to the barracks. Until they do, we cannot say that a pledge in line with the Annan plan is fulfilled," Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters in a joint press appearance with his visiting Finnish counterpart Jyrki Tapani Katainen in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
