Turkish President Abdullah Gul said Wednesday that more efforts should be exerted to make the Middle East a region free of chemical weapons.
"Turkey actively works to clear the Mideast of all chemical weapons and the members of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons should boost their efforts to that end," Gul told the General Assembly of the Hague-based organization as part of his visit in the Netherlands.
