TASHKENT (AA) - A passanger train carrying about 267 people slipped off the tracks in southern Uzbekistan early Thursday, injuring about 59 people.
The accident occured in Jizzakh region, while it was traveling from Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe to northern Hocand city.
At least 59 people, most of them recruits, and several officers were wounded in the accident, according to Tajikistan's defense mnistry.
Cause of the accident is unknown.
The railway lines to Tajikistan pass through Uzbekistan.
