Poland reiterates support for two-state solution in Palestine-Israel conflict
Poland’s deputy foreign minister says 'you can't decide about Palestine without the Palestinians,' in a direct rebuttal of Trump’s recent proposals of relocation of Gazans

WARSAW
Poland’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrzej Szejna said Wednesday that Warsaw supports a two-state solution in Palestine - Israel conflict.
Szejna was asked about US President Donald Trump's ideas for razing and rebuilding Gaza by relocating around 1.8 million Palestinians on Polish station Radio RMF FM.
“Just like in the case of Ukraine, where we say that you can't decide about Ukraine without Ukraine, if we're talking about the peace process. Similarly, you can't decide about Palestine without the Palestinians. This is Poland's position,” Szejna said.
US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the "US will take over the Gaza Strip," shortly after suggesting a permanent resettlement of Palestinians outside Gaza.
"The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too," he said during a news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The deputy head of Polish diplomacy said Poland was sticking to the position it has adopted for a long time and that it is consistent with what it has been proposing in UN resolutions since the 1940s - i.e. two-statehood.
“The Polish government also wants to hear how this is seen not only by all the countries of the Persian Gulf, but also by the Palestinians themselves, with whom we maintain diplomatic relations,” added Szejna.
