Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 952,321 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,275 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,496 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 951,486 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 3.2% increase compared to Monday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.7% while lignite plants comprised 14.6%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,839 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 10,415 megawatt-hours.
