Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Wednesday by 0.82% compared to the previous day to reach 943,105 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 43,802 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,094 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 945,546 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.79% increase compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 27.42% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Wednesday, hydroelectricity power plants held a share of 23.16% and the share of imported coal was 18.45%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,641 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 2,200 megawatt-hours.
