Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 13.9% on Monday compared to the previous day, reaching 983,360 megawatt-hours according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,168 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time on Monday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was lowest at 31,138 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 994,278 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 13.7% decrease from Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 39% of total electricity consumption, hydropower plants held a 19.2% share while imported coal plants comprised 14.5%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 17,329 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,729 megawatt-hours.
