Qatar, a rising star in the Middle East with its investments to Europe, has launched a 160 billion USD of construction attempt for the following decade.
The first Middle Eastern country to host the United Nations (UN) Conference on Trade and Development, Qatar has allocated 50 billion USD to infrastructural investments till 2016.
One of the most important projects of Qatar is construction of stadiums. Qatar will construct eight new stadiums for the World Cup 2022.
The Qatari administration is preparing to open a 50-kilometer subway construction tender in August.
Turkey has launched initiatives to take share in this giant investment attempt of Qatar. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is actually in Doha, Qatar to attend the UN conference, and is accompanied by Deputy Prime Ministers Besir Atalay and Bekir Bozdag, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Development Minister Cevdet Yilmaz, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz, and many businessmen.
Erdogan is expected to meet Qatari Amir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabir Al Thani, and discuss Turkish contractors' accomplishments and their willingness to take part in Qatari projects.
The Qatari Amir will host a dinner in Erdogan's honor this evening following meetings in which bilateral relations will be discussed.
Erdogan will attend the 13th UN Conference on Trade and Development on Saturday. Premier Erdogan is expected to talk about Turkey's economic growth in a speech he is expected to make in the conference.
During his meetings with Qatari executives, Erdogan is set to debate regional developments, particularly developments in Syria and Iraq, and exchange views on steps to be taken regarding Syria.
