Speaking to AA correspondent, Jyrki Katainen said that he was impressed by Turkey's economic performance. Turkey has taken right steps, he said.
"I came Turkey with nearly 40 Finnish companies seeking new investment and cooperation opportunities. Finnish businesspeople told me that Turkey is on the right path with respect to its EU bid and sound economy," he said.
Katainen said that global economic crisis boosted credibility of Turkey, stating that he expected more investment to Turkey from Finland in the coming months.
Finnish companies attached a great interest in energy investments in Turkey, he said.
Finnish premier said that he supported the stance assumed by Turkey regarding crackdown in Syria.
Katainen said he was glad about Turkey's active role in the region.
