ISTANBUL
Canadian Candu (Canada Deuterium Uranium) company's vice president Ala Alizadeh said that the nuclear power plant, which was planned to be built in Turkey's northern Sinop city, would cost 20 billion USD.
Speaking to AA on Friday, Alizadeh said that they spared nearly six months for the feasibility of the project, adding that they would work together with Turkey's state-owned power company EUAS during feasibility studies.
Noting that the date of starting the project had not been clear yet, Alizadeh said that they predicted they would be able to begin the project one year later.
Chinese CNI23 company would also actively take part in the project, added Alizadeh.
Turkey, on Friday, signed a deal with Candu to launch talks to build a nuclear power plant in Sinop.
Turkey had already sealed a similar deal with Russia's nuclear engineering company Atomstroyexport, which will build Turkey's first nuclear power plant in the Mediterranean port of Mersin in the Akkuyu area.
Turkey continues talks with South Korea, Japan and China on building the Sinop plant.
