DAKAR
Turkish prime minister warned slaying of three women at a Kurdish center in Paris might be linked to Turkey's talks with a jailed separatist leader with the goal of disarming the terrorist PKK organization.
"We need to be patient and wait for authorities to shed a light on the incident. This may be an internal feud [within the PKK] or it might be a provocation attempt to disturb our good intentioned efforts to make a headway," Erdogan told reporters in a joint press conference with Senegal's President Macky Sall in Dakar, Turkish premier's last stop in a three-nation African tour.
Three Kurdish women were found dead morning at the Information Center for Kurdistan in Paris, reportedly shot in the head in what appeared to be an execution-style killing.
One of the victims was identified as Sakine Cansiz, one of the founding members of the terrorist PKK organization.
Turkish intelligence officials have been conducting talks with the group's jailed leader, Abdullah Ocalan, in a bid to disarm the PKK.
The group is recognized as a terrorist organization also by the United States and the European Union.
The conflict between PKK and Turkish troops has cost thousands of lives since 1984.
