Veteran striker Andriy Shevchenko has been appointed as the head coach of Italian football club Genoa, it was announced on Sunday.
The Serie A club said they reached an agreement with Shevchenko until June 30, 2024.
It comes as former Genoa manager Davide Ballardini parted ways after a 2-2 draw against Empoli on Friday.
Shevchenko, 45, was appointed as Ukraine's head coach in 2016. But after a 4-0 defeat against England in EURO 2020 quarterfinals, he stepped down.
