German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion signed a four-year renewal contract to service Swedish Vattenfall's 122-megawatt (MW) Princess Alexia Wind Farm located in the central Dutch province of Flevoland, the company announced Wednesday.
Located in the town of Zeewolde, Princess Alexia --formerly known as the Zuidlob wind farm-- is fully owned by Vattenfall through its subsidiary Nuon, and is one of the biggest onshore wind farms in the Netherlands, according to a press release.
'Joint teams of Senvion and Vattenfall/Nuon turbine engineers will be servicing 36 Senvion 3.4M104 turbines at Princess Alexia from their base in Nijkerk,' the statement read.
Commissioned back in September 2013, the wind farm has the power to generate electricity for up to 88,000 households a year, it added.
The construction of Princess Alexia was started at the end of 2011 and Senvion completed the entire project within 17 months.
A global manufacturer of onshore and offshore wind turbines, Senvion develops, produces and markets wind turbines for almost any location - with rated outputs of 2 MW to 6.33 MW and rotor diameters of 82 meters to 152 meters.
Furthermore, the company offers its customers project specific solutions in the areas of turnkey, service and maintenance, transport and installation, as well as foundation planning and construction.
