Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 8.19% to 692,418 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 32,629 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,817 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 692,676 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with a 8.92% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 201,501 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river and imported coal plants followed with 120,103 megawatt-hours and 119,246 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,054 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,312 megawatt-hours.
