Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.21% to 718,811 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 34,860 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 26,223 megawatt-hours at 07.00.
Total electricity production reached 709,873 megawatt-hours on Sunday, with a 9.10% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of output came from imported coal plants totaling 176,558 megawatt-hours.
Wind power and lignite plants followed with 139,730 megawatt-hours and 134,500 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,118 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 12,056 megawatt-hours.
