Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 12.1% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 788,969 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,837 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,410 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 791,794 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 11.7% increase compared to Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25.8% of total electricity consumption, wind power plants contributed 19.9% while imported coal plants comprised 17.2%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,854 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,830 megawatt-hours.
