Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Friday by 16.8% compared to the previous day to 658 bin 422 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 33,016 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 23,851 megawatt-hours at local time 10.00.
Electricity production totaled 666,477 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 16.5% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 176,570 megawatt-hours. Natural gas plants and hydroelectricity followed with 113,542 megawatt-hours and 109,465 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,447 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 2,392 megawatt-hours.
